UAE Energy Strategy 2050

In 2017, the UAE launched its first unified Energy Strategy 2050. The strategy, which is based on supply and demand, aims to increase the contribution of clean energy in the total energy mix from 25 percent to 50 percent by 2050 and reduce the carbon footprint of the power generation sector by 70 percent to yield AED 700 billion in savings. Noor Abu Dhabi is one of the first initiatives to deliver those ambitious energy goals. Having more than 1,200 MW capacity of fully operational photovoltaic technology marks a significant milestone in the UAE’s energy strategy.
